Buka Village Mourns the Loss of Respected Head Goan Burah, Likha Budh.
Doimukh, 13 July 2025:
In a moment of profound grief, the people of Buka Village and the greater Kimin-Doimukh region mourn the passing of Late Likha Budh, the Head Goan Burah of Buka Village. He breathed his last at 4:30 PM on 13th July 2025 at CHC Doimukh, District Papum Pare, Arunachal Pradesh.
He was 89. Born on 4th August 1936 in Jampa Village under Doimukh Circle, Late Likha Budh later shifted to Buka Village under Kimin Circle before the catastrophic Assam–Tibet earthquake of the 1950s. A figure known for his deep wisdom, humility, and firm commitment to his people, Late Likha Budh was appointed as the official Goan Burah (village elder) of Buka Village by the Deputy Commissioner, Yupia, recognizing his lifelong service and natural leadership.
He was the son of Late Likha Tado and Late Tana Yeyir Likha. A pillar of the community, he played a pivotal role in preserving traditional values while promoting harmony and cooperation among villagers.
Late Likha Budh is survived by his wife, Smt. Gyamar Neni Likha, four sons—Likha Raja, M.I. Agriculture (GoAP); Likha Talin, S.I. at Rajiv Gandhi University (GoI); Er. Likha Mashi, J.E. PHED (GoAP); and Shri Likha Nikh, GPM, Buka—along with eight daughters and 87 grandchildren.
Community members remember him as a man of remarkable simplicity, unwavering integrity, and gentle wisdom. His passing marks the end of an era for Buka Village, and his absence will be deeply felt across generations.
Funeral arrangements and last rites are being organized by the family. Funeral service will be done at resident of Shri Likha Budh at buka village on 15th july 2025, and all the relatives may attend to pay their final respects to a man who gave his life to the service of his people.
